Family Holocaust Victims remembered on International Holocaust Remembrance Day 2022

Below is a link to findings on over 2,100 members of my German Jewish ancestral families.

All were murdered in the Holocaust.

Some were killed along with their parents, siblings and children. Some had survivors in the next generation to tell their stories, some did not.

This is an attempt to remember and document their memory.

Never Forget

The photos come from a variety of sources.  Even though they are only headshots, the great majority posed, their expressions tell their story.

Some, faces clipped from photos of large family celebrations, are quite fuzzy, but they are celebrations. It is good to remember them in good times no matter how fuzzy.

Some photos show successful looking, handsome men and beautiful women dressed to celebrate.

Others show people at home with visitors, often relatives.

The more recent photos are tense, angry and fearful. The oppressive 1930s clearly took a toll.

The pictures of the old show resignation.

The saddest pictures of this horrific presentation are of the children of the 1930s and 1940s. Couples, optimistic and hopeful in spite of the situation, continued to bring forth children. Later, optimism and hope would disappear.
